Tas: Fisherman washed away by giant wave

A man's been washed away by a giant wave .. while fishing on rocks on Tasmania's east coast.

The man was fishing alongside another man near Binalong .. when a wave swept him off
the rocks about 12.40pm (AEDT) yesterday.

Police searched the shoreline .. but the man couldn't be found.

The search will resume at daybreak today.
